Amoxicillin ER

Amoxicillin ER is an antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of strep throat. This medicine works to stop bacteria from growing and multiplying in the body by inhibiting the bacteria's ability to build cell walls. This is the first, once-a-day amoxicillin medication. Although most people have no problems with it, side effects are possible and may include yeast infections, diarrhea, and nausea.

What Is Amoxicillin ER?

Amoxicillin ER (Moxatag™) is a prescription antibiotic approved to treat strep throat in people age 12 and older. It is the first, once-a-day medication of its type.

Are There Side Effects?

Just like any medicine, amoxicillin ER may cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.
