Amoxicillin ERAmoxicillin ER is an antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of strep throat. This medicine works to stop bacteria from growing and multiplying in the body by inhibiting the bacteria's ability to build cell walls. This is the first, once-a-day amoxicillin medication. Although most people have no problems with it, side effects are possible and may include yeast infections, diarrhea, and nausea.
