Amoxicillin ER (
Moxatag™) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to
amoxicillin ER drug interactions include:
- Chloramphenicol
- Macrolides, such as azithromycin (Zithromax®), clarithromycin (Biaxin®), or erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
- Sulfonamides ("sulfa drugs"), including sulfadiazine, sulfadoxine (Fansidar®), sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim®, Septra®), and sulfisoxazole (Gantrisin®)
- Tetracyclines, such as doxycycline (Periostat®, Vibramycin®), minocycline (Minocin®), and tetracycline (Sumycin®)
