Ancef 1 Gram

You may receive 1-gram Ancef® (cefazolin) dose to treat or prevent certain bacterial infections. The specific dose your healthcare provider prescribes will vary, depending on several factors, such as your age, weight, and the type and severity of the infection being treated.

Ancef is given by intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection. It is usually given every 6 to 12 hours. For serious infections, it is usually best to give this drug by IV rather than an IM injection.
