Azithromycin Drug Interactions

Drug interactions with azithromycin can cause your body to metabolize the medicines differently than intended, cause an increase in heart toxicity, and alter the levels of some drugs in your system, among other things. A few of the drugs that can potentially interact with azithromycin include warfarin, tacrolimus, and antacids containing aluminum or magnesium (such as Rolaids or Mylanta). Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider or pharmacist about any azithromycin drug interactions that may apply to you.
