This prescription antibiotic comes as capsules or an oral suspension (liquid), and is taken once daily for 10 days. Your individual dosage will depend on your weight, the type and severity of the infection being treated, and various other factors.
 
Before prescribing this drug, your healthcare provider will take into consideration safety information associated with ceftibuten, including a current list of any other medications you are taking and your complete medical history. Ceftibuten may not be an appropriate medication for people who have kidney disease or those who have had an allergic reaction to penicillin.
