Antibiotic Cipro Information

Cipro® (ciprofloxacin) is commonly prescribed to treat several types of bacterial infections. For example, this antibiotic can treat:
 
This antibiotic is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medications you are taking before prescribing Cipro.
 
Although many people do not have any problems while taking this drug, Cipro can cause side effects, such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. If negative reactions do occur, they tend to be mild and easily treated.
 
Cipro comes in several strengths and is available in the form of tablets, an oral liquid suspension, and an intravenous (IV) solution. It is typically taken twice daily, with about 12 hours between doses.
