Cipro Side Effects

Side Effects to Report

Some Cipro side effects should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These potential reactions include but are not limited to:
 
  • Joint or muscle problems
  • Swelling, pain, bruising, or rupture of a tendon (see Cipro Tendon Rupture)
  • Seizures
  • Any unusual changes in thoughts or behavior, such as:
     
    • Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
    • Paranoia (feeling suspicious, or like people are out to get you)
    • Feeling anxious, nervous, or restless
    • Depression
    • Suicidal thoughts
    • Confusion
    • Problems sleeping
 
  • Fainting
  • A fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Watery, bloody, or severe diarrhea
  • Burning, numbness, tingling, or prickling sensations in your arms, hands, legs, or feet
  • Signs of liver problems, such as:
     
    • Dark urine
    • Loss of appetite
    • Fatigue or excessive tiredness
    • Pain in the right upper part of the stomach
    • Yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
 
  • Any skin rash
  • Low blood sugar levels if you have diabetes
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
     
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing or difficulty breathing or swallowing
