Bacteria Home > Cipro Drug Interactions

Vitamins With Aluminum, Magnesium, Calcium, Zinc, or Iron
Aluminum, magnesium, zinc, calcium, and iron can bind to Cipro in the digestive tract, preventing it from being absorbed into the bloodstream. You should take your Cipro dose at least two hours before or six hours after taking any vitamins that contain aluminum, magnesium, calcium, zinc, or iron.

Warfarin
There have been reports that combining Cipro with warfarin may increase the risk for bleeding. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely.

Final Thoughts

It is possible that not all drug interactions with Cipro were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about specific interactions that may apply to you.

It is always a good idea to give your healthcare provider a complete list of all medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, herbs, and supplements.
