Complications of MRSA
Specific Complications of a MRSA InfectionMRSA can invade many areas of the body, not just the skin. Some of the most common areas affected (and the types of infections caused) include the:
- Lungs (pneumonia)
- Bloodstream (bacteremia or septicemia)
- Soft tissue (cellulitis)
- Bone (osteomyelitis)
- Inner lining of the heart (endocarditis).
Other, less common types of infections have also been reported with MRSA.
