Rifampin Oral Suspension
Rifampin (Rifadin®) is a medicine prescribed to treat tuberculosis and to get rid of certain types of bacteria. Although it comes in the form of a capsule and an injection, rifampin can be made into an oral liquid suspension for people who have difficulty swallowing the capsules, such as children.
Rifampin liquid suspension must be shaken well before use. It is important to use the medicine as prescribed. If you miss a dose or do not complete the full course of treatment, it can increase your risk of the infection coming back.
